St. Cronan’s Association provides services to people with intellectual disabilities in Roscrea, Nenagh & Birr and have a vacancy for the following position:

Community Support Worker (Disability)

Qualifications:      The ideal candidate will hold a third level qualification applicable to the position and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of supporting people with disabilities

Duties    The ideal candidate will be required to promote Community Inclusion and participation and be fully competent in developing and delivering person centred plans to people with disabilities.

Candidates will need to be able to display the following skills:

• Excellent communication, planning and report writing skills

• Good leadership, motivational and organisational skills

• Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team

• Confidence in talking to people and excellent listening skills, both in groups and on a 1:1 basis

Ability to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds and to engage with relevant community groups
