Green Flag Committee
June 26th, 2014Green Flag Committee Formed at St. Cronans
After much debate St. Cronan’s Green Flag Committee was formed in September 2013. The purpose of this committee is to achieve Green Flag status, an environmental standard awarded by An Taisce. To achieve this standard the committee must implement a programme of seven steps.
These are:
Forming a committee
Carrying out an environmental review
Developing an action plan
Monitoring the action plan
Integrating the process into the curriculum of St. Cronan’s.
Informing and including service users, staff, family and the community in the programme Development of a Green Code.
Each flag awarded represents a separate theme. The theme that the Green Flag Committee are working toward is called Litter & Waste.
The committee were registered with An Taisce in March/April 2014. We cannot apply for the award for at least 9 months after registration.
